FOUNDER

           The late Raja of Bhinga, Rajarshi Udai Pratap Singh Ju Deo, established this institution in the year 1909. Rajarshi was a saint king. He had a high regard for educational, social and moral upliftment of society having special attention towards Kshatriya caste. He lived a simple life as against the luxurious life enjoyed by other rulers of those days.

          He was born on 3rd Sept. 1850. He was sworn in as king of Bhinga (a former estate in Baharaich District of U.P.) only in his childhood at the age of 18 years. He was married to Rani Murar Kumari in the year 1870 at the age of 19 years.

          Rajarshi had held several honourable posts in the government. He was advisor to educational commission. He was made member of Union Public Service Commission in the year 1886. He was a social and political thinker and has expressed his views about several controversial matters like democracy etc. He has written a number of books and several articles and had a rare command of the English language.

          Apart from establishing this college, he established quite a few other institutions and gave financial contributions to several institutions. He established an orphan's home, Bhinga Raj Anathalaya at Kamachchha in Varanasi and also created a permanent fund by donating it Rs 1,23,000 to meet the recurring expenses. He donated thousands and lacs of rupees to several social organizations, to name few - KG Medical College, Lucknow; Moolgandh Kuti Vihar, Sarnath; Colvin Taluqedar's College, Lucknow etc. He also created several permanent funds for providing scholarships to students from their interest. His soul left this physical world on 14th July 1913. He will be long remembered for his noble deeds.
